How Are You? Self-Assessment: It's More Important Than You Think

"How are you?" is a question we hear almost daily. It's often met with a quick, "I'm fine," or "I'm good," without much thought. But what if we paused and gave ourselves the opportunity to answer this question with a bit more depth and honesty? Understanding our true state of being is crucial for our overall well-being and happiness. Let's explore why self-assessment is more important than you might think.

We Can Experience Different States of Being at the Same Time

Life is complex, and so are we. It's entirely possible to feel joyful about a promotion at work while simultaneously feeling stressed about a family situation. We might be excited about a new relationship but anxious about a lingering health issue. Recognizing that we can hold multiple states of being at once allows us to be more honest with ourselves and those around us.

When we ask ourselves, "How am I really doing?" we give space for these varied emotions to coexist. This self-awareness is the first step towards understanding our holistic well-being.
